Originally the Colonial Surgeon's residence, it was later used as offices, nursing home quarters, maternity ward, and administration and pharmacy. It was demolished about 1960. According to a researcher, it was not demolished until the early 1970s.

[General description] This church, designed by local architect William Thomas Gore was built of dolomite and features a roof with many gables and an imposing bell tower. The foundation stone for this church was laid on February 21, 1865. Stained glass windows by Melbourne firm Ferguson & Urie were installed in 1867. Stage Coach pulled up outside the Globe Hotel, Mt. Gambier. In 1885 the hotel was entirely destoyed by fire and was rebuilt as a two storey building. It was also known as the Globe Inn. Walter James Anderson was the licensee from 1893-1903.
