Adelaide Technical College, Kintore Avenue, 1927, right side of college is 193 yards north of the south side of the Reading Room and Public Library. The right side is 249 yards south of North Terrace, frontage is 14 yards. This two storey red brick building was erected in 1927.

Australia's Fair, Adelaide Jubille Exhibition Building
EXHIBITION BUILDING: Crowds attending the opening of the Australia's Fair held in the Adelaide Jubilee Exhibition Building, 15 August 1893; Governor Kintore, who is standing facing the camera at the centre of an official party in front of a major display, opened the event. The fair was held to raise two thousand pounds for the erection of workshops for the Industrial School for the Blind in North Adelaide. A report of the event in the South Australian Chronicle, 19 August 1893, noted that 'The whole of the platform has been converted into an English winter landscape'.

A family poses for the photographer in front of the Mounted Police Barracks Armoury (on the right) and the Colonial Store (or Destitute Asylum), on the left. (For site see map of Adelaide in 1871 Almanack.) These buildings face south and are about 120 yards north of North Terrace. The extreme left is 70 yards east of Kintore Avenue. The near side of the building on the extreme right is 158 yards east of Kintore Avenue. The open space is the site of the Parade Ground.

Destitute Asylum
Southern Side of old Destitute Asylum in Kintore Avenue, Adelaide. The Old Destitute Asylum was founded in 1856. It housed 65 women, 30 men and 43 children. It provided government assistance to vulnerable immigrants who had no relatives in the colony. The photograph shows the southern side of the Asylum buildings with lean-to shelters erected against the buildings by the Kintore Avenue Parking Station. For view of buildings prior to the erection of lean-to shelters see B 796. The lean to shelters have many cars parked under them.

Destitute Asylum
Destitute Asylum situated in Kintore Avenue was built of bluestone in 1877-78. Buildings were added over the years to accommodate the poor, infirm and orphans. Some of these buildings included a nursery, wash-house, stables and a morgue. The Destitute Asylum operated until 1926 providing financial assistance and temporary accommodation to the needy. The two storey building depicted is part of the women's general quarters and not on Kintore Avenue. It is part of quadrangle C, building 20. Arches feature along the walls of both storeys providing shelter from the elements.

Caretaker's lodge, University of Adelaide, Kintore Avenue, east side. The lodge was erected in 1937. The right side of the lodge is 297 yards north of the North Terrace alignment of Government House wall. The lodge stands back 20 yards from the Kintore Avenue alignment. Frontage is 12 yards. The lodge is a two storey stucco clad building with a steep tiled roof. Columns appear around the recessed front door and there are shutters on the windows which face west.
