Monochrome tinted lithograph of Gilles Arcade in the city of Adelaide. In a cleared foreground area beyond fencing are two sets of two figures. One couple stands to the right and the other in the centre positioned left of a horse and full cart and on a path heading out of town. In the mid-ground is an arrangement of buildings presumably shops and dwellings, including stone structures and wooden ones with shingled roofing. There are trees in the background.

Monochrome tinted lithograph depicting the original Southern Cross Hotel that was on Currie Street in Adelaide. The building design consists of a small half-octagonal domed section adjoining at the back of the building by a long rectangular section. The building rests in what seems to be the middle of a fenced field. A large cross sits atop the peak of the dome. Included in the scene are three sheep in a paddock. The hotel was 30 meters east of Rosina Street and operated from late 1837 until May 1843. Frederick William Allen was the licensee.
