Looking east from rear of Family Hotel in 1868. In the foreground are two storied houses in College Street including Essenside (with the tower). The two storied place on the right is in Moseley Street. On the extreme left can be seen the original Congregational Church/Congregational Hall. "The Olives" and Mr O'Halloran Giles home show up in the right centre, while in the distance is Partridge Street and the new fine residential area of Helmsdale. This photograph was reproduced in the Observer March 10, 1928.
