Railway Station, Brinkworth
Railway Station, Brinkworth in the mid north of South Australia north of Clare. The town was named after an early landowner George Brinkworth and was settled in 1860 with the town being laid in 1892. The railway went through Brinkworth to Gladstone with junction lines to Snowtown, Kadina and Wallaroo.
Bundaleer Station
The woolshed on Bundaleer Station, owned at this time by C.B.Fisher. Horse teams are preparing to take wagon loads of wool bales to the nearest port, possibly Wallaroo.

Kadina
Graves Street looking west, Exchange Hotel on the right and Ideal Picture Theatre on left. Kadina was founded to provide homes for miners at the nearby Wallaroo Copper Mine. The mines attracted many miners from Cornwall. The buildings in Kadina are colonial and federation style. The name Kadina was derived from the Narungga word Kadiyinya meaning Lizard Plain. The Ideal Picture Theatre was in operation from 1921. The (Royal) Exchange Hotel was in existence from 1861 and at the time of the photograph the proprietor was Gordon Hillier Jacob.

Wandilta Mine, Kadina
"Wandilta Mine" was abandoned in 1870 because of exhaustion of ore bodies above water level, due to diamond drilling by the Mines Department in 1907 was re-opened by the Government and worked as a state enterprise until c.1912. A note on the baclk of the photograph says "Wandilta Mine, a mile or so east of Kadina, was discovered in the 1860's. Exhaustion of known ore bodies above water level led to the abandonment of the property which reverted to the State in 1870. "Geology of Moonta and Wallaroo" by R Lockhart Jack, 1917. As a result of diamond drilling by the Mines Department begun in 1907 the mine was re-opened by the Government and worked as a state enterprise until c.1912"

Price family, Paskeville
John Cleft Price and Anne Elizabeth Price (nee Baynes) with their 13 children; Rubina (born 1889), Roy (1891), Elizabeth (1893), Arnold (1895), Leland (1896), Marcus (1898), Clement (1900), Gladys (1902), William (1904), John (1906), Ralph (1908), Melva (1910) and Jack (1912). John Cleft Price was a resident of Paskeville between 1887 and 1952, being variously described as a Butcher, Baker and Storekeeper and from 1919 as a Justice of the Peace. He was a Councillor for Kulpara and Kadina District Councils.

Distant view taken from the top of 100' dump at Old Wallaroo copper mine. The shaft was over 4000ft deep and closed down in 1912.
Moonta Railway Station
[General description] A train is stationary in the yard at the Moonta Railway Station. A man, maybe the engineer is standing on the cowcatcher of the locomotive. The railway station building was designed by architect Alfred McBain Bonython and erected by Gambling & Son in 1909. It was one of several built to the same design by at Penola, Tailem Bend, Wallaroo and Murray Bridge.
Yelta Mine, Moonta
[General description] This is a copy of an illustrated article appearing in 'The Peoples' Weekly', Moonta dated 24-9-27. It shows the surface installation, Yelta Mine, Moonta. The man in the foreground is Captain Thomas Cowling. [On back of photograph} The text of the article reads: Shortly after Ryan's discovery in June 1861 on Captain Hughes' Warrilka run, overlooking Moonta Bay, the Yelta Mining Company was formed. Mr Frederick Wright, manager of the National Bank in Adelaide, was elected Chairman of Directors, and early in the following year rich ore was being sent to Wallaroo for shipment to the E. & A. Company's smelting works at Port Adelaide. Mr. J.L. Tuxford, of the North Terrace Implement Yard, a large shareholder, was sent up to supervise operations. His stay was short and Collingwood Kitto, a Victorian manager, accompanied by his brothers, Robert K. and Richard, took charge. He was succeeded by Captain Anthony and the part shown in the illustration was then opened up. Two years afterwards Captain Thomas Cowling took charge, and in February 1871 the first engine was set going and worked continuously until early in 1878, when operations ceased following a slump in the copper market. In 1885 the Bickford Syndicate bought out the company and the late Richard Cowling, who at that time was in charge of the Hamley, was put in command. In the illustration the figure in the foreground with the high hat is that of the late Captain Thomas Cowling, who died in January 1899. Perhaps some of the old Moonta Residents may recognise others who appear in the photograph, taken by Duryea'

[General description] Penola Railway Station. It was one of several built to the same design by architect Alfred McBain Bonython at Moonta, Tailem Bend, Wallaroo and Murray Bridge. Railway officials stand in front of the building.

"R.M.S. Rupara", Port Lincoln
[General description] The R.M.S. 'Rupara' at Port Lincoln. She has steam coming from her funnel and flags flying from her rigging. She was a steel single screw steamship built in 1906 by Leslie & Co, Hebburn-on-Tyne, Newcastle. She was designed for the Spencer Gulf trade, Adelaide - Port Lincoln in an express passenger and mail service. She steamed from Port Lincoln, across the Spencer Gulf to Wallaroo, and returned to Port Adelaide via Port Lincoln. [On back of photograph] "S.S. Rupara' / At Port Lincoln / 1907'.
