Also included is a biographical note on the Wood family (Thomas, Thomas Percy and Rex) prepared by Ian Maidment of the Hill-Smith Gallery, a family tree prepared by Chris Hughes, the sale brochure from the gallery and Adam Dutkiewicz's article from the Advertiser 6 June 2003 about the exhibition.

A soldier behind his commanding officer, giving the salute, holds his battalion's colours. Crowds are watching from the street edges and flags are flying from the Criterion's balcony verandah. (C. Whallin was publican of the Criterion Hotel from 1914-1920.) Two tramcars can be seen in front of the GPO. A researcher has suggested that this is the 20th Reinforcement of the 27th Battalion, and that the officer at the front of the column is Lieutenant John Lindsay Ross.

Photographs 1-9 were taken by Rev. N. H. Louwyck, for the Centenary, 8 September 1936 of the landing of Col. William Light at Rapid Bay South Australia. Photographs 10 (see series 22 photo 29), 20, 48 are missing from the set.

King George V memorial

King George V memorial, Angas Gardens, Sir Edwin Smith Drive, Adelaide. The memorial, by sculptor Maurice Lambert, is a bronze statue with a pedestal of Waikerie freestone and granite, it was unveiled on the 25 April 1950. King George V represented his father King Edward VII at the opening of the Australian Parliament in May 1901 and visited Adelaide as part of his visit to Australia, he died in 1936.

Phineas Philip Davies memorial

Phineas Philip Davies memorial in the South Australian Naval Memorial Garden, Sir Edwin Smith Drive, Adelaide. The inscription reads, "Sacred to the memory of Phineas Philip Davies, A.B. H.M.C.S. Protector. Killed by premature explosion of a cartridge when firing salute at Glenelg Commemoration Day 29th December 1885. Aged 20. Erected by his shipmates and Naval Reserve." The memorial marked the grave of Davies in Cheltenham Cemetery for 100 years prior to being claimed by the Royal Australian Navy in December 1986. It was installed as the headpiece of the South Australian Naval Memorial Garden at H.M.A.S. Encounter until the Garden was relocated in April 1995.

[Bradman Toby jug]

Toby jug depicting a caricature head of Bradman wearing the baggy green as the main vessel and a cricket bat and ball as the handle. Brown slip cast. No. 1 of a limited edition of 3,000, Bendigo Pottery, Victoria. The Donald Bradman Toby Jug was one of a limited edition series launched in 1975 designed and sculpted by cartoonist John Frith, one of Australia's most prolific and celebrated cartoonists and artists. This series of sculptures made for Bendigo Pottery by Frith also included Albert Namatjira, Charles Kingsford Smith, Robert Menzies, Henry Lawson and Ned Kelly. Bendigo Pottery records show that there were only 844 of the Bradman Jug made.

Area of plan extends from Torrens Island to part of Albert Town and shows soundings in feet along reaches of the Port River. Sections numbers of land affected by the new development shown, with route of proposed road to the Northern Mines. Outside map area is an explanation of details shown in the plan, and names of proprietors of land sections in new development (S.A. Company, J.A. Smith, J. Morphett & O. Gilles, John Ellis, T.B.
