The series comprises 15 albums housing 1,973 photographs, most of which were taken by photographer W.A. Robjohns ca.1920-1966. Album covers were numbered and labelled by Robjohns. The sequence is incomplete, however, as only volumes 1-9, 12-14, 15, 20 and 23 have been donated. Robjohns' brief descriptions of content on the covers and spines are incomplete. For further descriptions of place names and subjects contained in each album, SEE details below. The albums contain small black and white prints, mostly undated, with captions by W.R. Robjohns. Also sepia and postcard prints, and a few hand-tinted prints. A small number of images were taken by other photographers, several of whom have been identified by Robjohns. Images depict Adelaide suburbs, city scenes and country towns, with an emphasis on rural landscapes, parks and reserves, rivers, reservoirs, streets, houses, churches, businesses and shop fronts, and public celebrations and processions. Also included are images of the Robjohns family on picnics and holiday outings, and their homes, cars and pets. A number of photos were duplicated or enlarged by Robjohns and appear in more than one album.

Photograph 154 of the Port Adelaide Gasworks after completion in 1866 is shown in the SAGASCO 1986 history (page 1) as part of the Bowden site buildings ca.1895. This is a copy made for SAGASCO ca.1986 from B 21542 (date given as ca.1900).

Heinrich family album, compiled by Ilona Oppenheim from loose family photographs. Notes found on the verso of photographs are noted in the caption in inverted commas. Topics include life at Hermannsburg Mission in the Northern Territory in the nineteen twenties, with photographs of some Aboriginal people and visitors to Hermannsburg, including scientists, government officials and tourists. Photos 293-295 are restricted from view pending assessment of Aboriginal content. These images include 293. Ceremonial tjuringa stones of the Hermannsburg area (restricted); 294. 'Manangananga' sacred cave (restricted); 295. 'Holy cave 17 April 1929 (Dad's birthday)'. Large group of Aboriginal people from the Hermannsburg Mission gathered at a sacred spot (restricted). Photos 296-302 have not been digitised. These are duplicated elsewhere in other Heinrich albums or lantern slides.

The reverse includes a letter to William Bruce from Vic of Freeling speaking of Albert Baxter being in the Kapunda Hospital, and 'Mary Jane Smith' visiting Freeling - a nickname for Victor Harbor baker William Henry Smith. Dated 17 September 1911.

Private David Alexander Brandis Cameron

Half plate negative of Private David Alexander Brandis Cameron, No. 7648, born 10 July 1891 at Kapunda, SA, son of James Cameron and Charlotte Eliza (nee Davie), worked as a farmer before he enlisted on 2 September 1915 and embarked from Melbourne on the HMAT Ascanius on 10 November 1915 with the Light Horse Brigade Train 4, Reinforcement 6, then served in France as a Driver with the 2nd Australian Division Train (20th Company), and later transferred to the 14th Company, Australian Army Service Corps (AASC). He returned to Australia on 13 April 1919.

The SA Government Gazette of 23 January 1890 (as printed in 'The Advertiser' of 24 January 1890) records: "The resignation of Brigade Surgeon William Talbot Clindening, principal medical officer, S.A. Military Forces, to be accepted, and his name to be placed on the non-effective retired list with the honorary rank of Deputy Surgeon-General, with permission to wear the prescribed uniform".
