Hindley Street south side, frontage of Midway buildings is 15.5 yards. The building was remodelled in 1939. Compare with B 5237. A sign on the side of the Midway Building directs patrons to the Tuxedo Club around the corner in Peel Street which apparently was one of several nightclubs in Adelaide. The repressive drinking laws lead to the development of nightclubs in Adelaide.

Hindley Street, south side, 12 March 1956, right side of the Civic Theatre is 13.5 yards east of Peel Street. For a view of Civic Theatre made in 1920-22, see B 4475 which shows cupolas and other ornamentation removed some years before this view was made. For view of theatre after rebuilding see B 13984. Previously named the Wondergraph Theatre designed by Garlick and Jackman and opened in 1913, the imposing building had its name changed to the Civic in 1932. The name was changed again to the State Theatre in 1957 and had ceased to be a theatre by 1983.

Colonial Mutual Life Building, south west corner of Hindley Street and King William Street, frontage is 33 yards.
