Captain Hugh King, Senior

Captain Hugh King, Senior, pioneer river trader, owner of 'Gem' 'Ellen', 'Ruby', 'Corowa', 'Princess Royal' and 'Mannum'. From 1867 his home was at Milang, South Australia and in 1878, he moved to Morgan. He traded on the Darling River until 1888, and then brought trade down to the river settlements on the Murray River in South Australia.

Captain George White

Captain George White

Captain George White, of 'P.S. Brewarrina' and 'P.S. Wandering Jew'. He took his vessel up to Bourke during what was probably the 1890 flood, and then had to beat the receding floodwaters back to safety. His daughter Jessie married Tom Desailly, and they spent a number of years at Brewarrina Station.
