[General description] This view looks along the centre aisle to the stage. This large airy space has decorative iron lace balconies and window panels, with murals adorning the ceiling, from which electric pendant lights hang. Flags and bunting have been added for the occasion. [General description] This facade of this imposing two storey red brick building features cloisters and a roof with twin towers. Built to take pressure off overcrowded existing hospital buildings its first patients were women. It is situated on North Terrace and set amongst gardens. [General description] The main focus of this view is the new east wing of the hospital, built from red brick, the front section facing North Terrace being two storeys, the rear being three. There are gardens in the right foreground and part of the old hospital building is seen on the left. The Adelaide Hills appear in the distance. [General description] The Adelaide Lunatic Asylum, viewed from a water tower on the opposite side of North Terrace, with iron buildings of what appears to be a timber yard in the foreground. The Asylum's North Terrace gates and lodge are seen in the middle ground, and the main buildings further back are partially obscured by trees. The Botanic Gardens are on the left. [General description] Designed by the Superintendent of Public Works, C.E. Owen Smyth, the north wing of the museum seems out of place between the Jervois and east wings. It was intended to be temporary, hence its more modest brick façade. It was built during the economic slump of the 1890s but was never replaced. It is still part of the Museum today. North Terrace looking east from Morphett Street. Near side of house on extreme right is 79 yards east of Morphett Street. The railway yards and the shed for Huddart, Parker & Co. Coal Importers, and Henry Hill and Co. Railway and General Carriers are visible. Parliament House can be seen on the northern side of North Terrace. On the southern side the buildings seen include Harrold Brothers, Adelaide Milling Company, Union Engineering, Grayson's Coffee Palace. A row of horse drawn carriages await passengers outside the railway station. The spire of Scots Church, formerly Chalmers Free Church can be seen further along North Terrace on the corner of Pulteney Street.

According to a researcher, this is the Torrens Parade Ground and the building left of centre is not the Old Exhibition Building of 1860 but the Machinery Hall erected for the Adelaide Jubilee International Exhibition of 1887-8.

[General description] The Jervois Wing of the State Library (named after Governor Jervois who laid the foundation stone in 1879). It was renamed the Mortlock WIng in 1986 after a generous bequest of John Andrew Tennant Mortlock paid for extensive renovations.
