Summary

[General description] This facade of this imposing two storey red brick building features cloisters and a roof with twin towers. Built to take pressure off overcrowded existing hospital buildings its first patients were women. It is situated on North Terrace and set amongst gardens. North-western suburbs are seen in the distance. [On back of photograph] 'The Adelaide Hospital / New East wing / from the Botanic Hotel / February 1894'.
