Photographs from the Voice to Parliament public ceremony

Photographs of the Voice to Parliament public ceremony at Parliament House, held on Sunday 26 March 2023. A special sitting of the South Australian Parliament was held to vote on the establishment of Australia's first Voice to Parliament for First Nations People. The South Australian Public was invited to gather and watch the vote on big screens outside of Parliament House on North Terrace. Legislation was passed to enshrine an indigenous voice to South Australian Parliament, led by Premier Peter Malinauskas and Minister for Aboriginal Affairs Kyam Maher. The event was opened with a smoking ceremony by elder Moogy Sumner, MC'd by Shelly Ware, and featured performances by musicians Nathan May and Tilly Tjala Thomas. Politicians and Aboriginal leaders are featured in some of the photographs of the event, which was attended by a large crowd on North Terrace.
