Photographic copies of 16 sketches redrawn by N. Chevalier in 1868 (?) based on field sketches by J.A.F.D. Herrgott made during the expedition with John McDouall Stuart in the vicinity of Lake Torrens, April to July 1859. (Chevalier incorrectly named the artist as D.D. Herrgott on his drawings.) An annotation on the originals '27th/1/68' may relate to the date of production of copies. The originals carry the stamp of the Royal Geographical Society London. To see individual images of these scenes do a NUMBER search on B 47623/1-16.
