For a period during WW1 was renamed Eugenio Bruni but later reverted to Dowan Hill before being sold to Norwegian owners who renamed the vessel Snig].

The typical South Australian wooden ketch 'Sea Flower', 66 tons, at Port Adelaide. This photograph was taken by Francis Wear, a travelling photographer who had a business under the name of "F.E. Wear" at Rann Street, Port Adelaide from 1896-1907. According to a researcher, the Le Messurier family bought the ship from Tasmania and registered it in Port Adelaide in 1899. It was sold to Fremantle in aproximately 1913 and wrecked there in 1923. (Sources - "Le Messuriers of Port Adelaide" , John Tregenza, 1991 and "Ketches of South Australia", Ronald Parsons).

Built 1887 (8) Russell and Co. Port Glasgow. Owners: GM Steeves and J McGrindell, registered Liverpool.]. Norwegian owned from 1910 to 1916, then sold to Danish shipowner O. J. Eskildsen in May 1916. On 25 April 1917 she was sunk by German submarine U-58 off Scotland, when en route from Baltimore USA to Aarhus, Denmark carrying a cargo of superphosphates.

In October 1916 renamed 'Raupo' and became the property of GH Scales (of Wellington). 1923 Canterbury Steam Shipping Co. Ltd. and hulked in 1922-3, and register closed in 1929].

Owners Anglo American Oil Co. Ltd, registered London. c.1912 Standard Transportation Co. Ltd. registered Hong Kong. Made her last seagoing voyage in 1920-21 and then sold to Charles Nelson and Co. of San Francisco. Laid up until 1924 when she was converted to a barge. During WW2 with the shortage of tonnage she was re-rigged as a 6 mast schooner by Americans and renamed Tangara. Actual fate not known but apparently not a success under this last rig].

Some confusion exists but it is recommended to those interested that they compare the illustration of the New Zealand trader 'Nelson', correctly identified, that appears at page 105, v.1 in White Wings, ref. 7. iron 3 mast ship, 1310 gross, 1247 net tons. ON71668, 239.3 x 36.0 x 20.7. Built 1874 (8) R Duncan and Co., Port Glasgow. Owners: Albion Shipping Co. Ltd., registered Glasgow 1882 Shaw Savill and Albion Ltd. c.1907 sold to owners in Chile and re-rigged as a barque without change of name. She was wrecked in 1943].
