Photographs and papers of Kathleen Alice Finniss
60 photographs of Kathleen Alice Finniss and her family including her father John Henry Suffield Finniss, mother Alice Evelyn Finniss, brothers Harold Court Finniss, Leslie Howard Finniss and George Hassard Finniss. The photographs are predominantly created by Hammer and Co. portraiture studio, ranging in date from approximately 1883-1915. Papers include one pamphlet entitled "When Adelaide was Very Young: Trials and Hardships of the Pioneers.", written by George Morphett and published by the Pioneer's Society of South Australia circa 1950, at The Advertiser Printing Office, Adelaide, South Australia (which became The Griffin Press, circa 1954), and a newspaper obituary article for William Charles Maxwell Finniss 1842-1919, one of the 8 children of Boyle Travers Finniss.

Papers of the Casson family
Digital copies of a compilation of original photographs, letters and memorabilia relating to the Casson family of Pinnaroo, together with research notes relating to the family. The originals were housed in four folders under the heading 'Casson Family History', and include a folder of letters from Private Albert Ross Rowney written to his sister Rose, from his journey to France in 1915 to the last letter before his death in France 1917. Also included is a folder of memorabilia from Grand Master, Brother Rob Casson of the Freemasons. See below for details of contents.

Althorpe's Ladder
Althorpes Lighthouse; the ladder used for access. Althorpe Island is situated 17.5 kms from Marion Bay and 153 km by sea from Adelaide off Yorke Penninsula. From the summit breathtaking views can be enjoyed of the Lower Yorke Penninsula, Cape Spencer and even Kangaroo Island. The distance from the jetty to the top of the cliffs is 87 metres.

Althorpe Islands Jetty. The Althorpe Island are situated in Investigator Strait off the south western tip of Yorke Peninsula. The lighthouse and keepers' cottages remain as evidence of the islands' past use. The lighthouse was constructed from 1877 to 1879. This photograph shows a lighthouse tender anchored off the jetty. A small boat can be seen ferrying goods to the jetty. The lighthouse keeper's boat can be seen hoisted up on the jetty.

[General description] The lonely Althorpe Islands Lighthouse and keepers' cottage silhouetted against the sky. Its light was first exhibited in 1879. It is situated in Investigator Strait off the tip of Yorke Peninsula where there is an extensive reef.

[General Description] American River, Kangaroo Island at the mouth of the Pelican Lagoon. A house looks out over the lagoon where small islands can be seen and a ketch is moored at the end of the jetty.

[General description] This is a faded sepia view looking along the Ardrossan Jetty from the shore. There are goods sheds on the right. Construction was begun on this jetty in 1876, it was extended in 1880 and again in 1883 to a final length of 433 metres, also widened at that time.
