Jetty at Balgowan was erected in 1881 but it was found to be too close to a reef. A new jetty was required as the town grew and grain yields increased. The new jetty was opened in 1907 in a different location.

Barossa Reservoir was built between 1899 and 1902 to supply water to Gawler. The thin arch of the retaining wall curved against the pressure of the water and was thought radical at the time. Today the dam is notabled for its parabola effect (whispering wall) Large stones and old tram rails were used to strenghten the dam wall

[General description] This imposing two storey stone building, with its twin gables and decorative iron and brickwork, was built in 1881 as an Inebriates Retreat by Daniel Hewett. It was further extended in 1898. Between 1893-1907 it became Hope Lodge for the training of Missionaries. Since 1998 it has beome part of St. John's Grammar School. Remains of the old copper mine at Blinman . Before closure in 1907 over 750,000 pounds worth of copper was mined, in days before the Farina railway it was carted 140 miles by bullock teams to Port Augusta.

[General description] Cape Borda Lighthouse, silhouetted agaist the sky with a man, probably the keeper posing on its balcony. It was built in 1858 and is the only square lighthouse in South Australia.

[General description] Cape Borda Lighthouse, built circa 1858, stands stark against the sky in a landscape of sparse coastal vegetation. The head-keeper Mr Kopp and J.E. Searcy are in the foreground. On the right is a small cannon which was to be fired during fog to signal ships of danger.
