View of the gravestone of George Cole, father of George William Cole and William George Cooper Cole, at Walkerville Wesleyan Cemetery. Inscription: 'The memory of George Cole: born at Chichester, Sussex, England, May 2nd 1792, died suddenly while reading the Holy Scriptures in conducting public worship in Adelaide, with the name of "Christ" on his lips being the last word of the 20th verse, 1st chap. of St John, November 20th 1853, aged 61 years. "Happy if with my latest breath, I may but gasp His name; preach Him to all, and cry in death. Behold, behold the Lamb!" Also of Jane Cole, relict of the above, who died in the Lord April 3rd 1861, aged 73 years. Also Thomas Henry Jessop, who died May 23rd 1854, aged 14 months. Also Herbert John son of John and Emma T. Le Cornu, died 25th Novr 1883, aged 1 month. "Of such is the Kingdom of Heaven". The gravestone is cracked, and has a bible verse inscription with carving of an open Bible and a decorative motif at the top. Original photograph: 15.3 x 10.1 cm.
