Built 1858 Rotherhithe, London, steam engine 60 hp. Owners: James Deane and partners. Melbourne: 1865 Resolute Tug Co., Registered Melbourne 1871 HF Norton 1873 James Deane, jnr: 1880 Melbourne Harbour Trust Commissioners 1900 Townsville Harbour Board. Note from Parsons: 'It is unusual to incorporate the word 'the' in the name of a ship; it often confused compilers of official records in any search of MNL, Lloyds etc,. check under 'Murray' as well as 'The Murray'].
