Summary

View of exterior of John Martin's department store at Elizabeth, looking approximately west-southwest. An open park area with paths and a pond are visible in the foreground. The photograph was taken from the roof of the old Elizabeth Police Station while the photographer's father inspected a leak. The store was opened in 1964 and formed part of the Elizabeth City Centre. It became Harris Scarfe in 1997.
