"Travelling" in 11 carboard boxes, the schools convicts, soldiers and sailors from years 1 and 4 have just reached Rio de Janiero where they are greeted by Mr Hart's Year 3 class and fresh fruit and vegetables. The fleet's next stop is South Africa and it hopes to arrive in Australia on December 7. 29 June 1988.

The wall hangings, table mats, tea cosies, pottery, weaving, jewellery, paintings and woodwork have been prepared by Anna's students. Scholars have preserved and developed the Latvian themes symbolic of Latvian folklore. 8 December 1988.
