The insignia indicates that they were members of the 10th Battalion which was raised at the Morphettville Camp in 1914/1915, so this is the likely venue of the photo.

Memorial scroll for John Robert Wilson

Memorial scroll presented to the next of kin of Private John Robert WIlson, 12th Battalion, AIF. The scroll features the Royal Coat of Arms of the British monarchy in the top, with a message paying tribute to the fallen soldiers, sailors and nurses, printed in calligraphic script underneath, and the rank, name and regiment of the commemorated serviceman handwritten in calligraphic script at the bottom. The scrolls were issued in addition to the bronze memorial plaques to relatives of men and women whose deaths were attributable to the First World War. The scrolls were announced in England in October 1917, with the first scrolls presented in Australia in 1922.
