Presbyterian Church

Presbyterian Church at Woodville. The Woodville Wesleyan Mission was organised in 1876 as part of the Port Adelaide Circuit. Local landowner Captain Henry Simpson donated a portion of his land on Woodville Road so that a church could be built. In 1883 the original iron church was replaced by one built of stone. The foundation stone was laid by Mrs W Crocks in 1883. The church was enlarged in 1903 and included transepts, vestries and could seat 500

Comprises images of plans showing the proposed layout of Plants 2 and 5, Port Road entrance gate, G-6 barrel boring, aircraft tank assembly, Dory boat and Beaufighter manufacture, Kirkshire Foundry, Precision room, drill line, small dies section,experimental engineering section, and other areas at Woodville. Includes images of apprentices in the class room and the training workshop, and of measures taken to supply substitute fuels during power restrictions.
