Captain Sturt's cairn of stones at Mount Poole, erected in May 1845. The cairn was erected in memory of James Poole, a member of Sturt's expedition party.

This hotel was originally located in Frederick Street but was relocated around 1870 to Sturt Street. It was demolished in 1961. Ernest John Ross was the proprietor in 1941.
