Watercolour on paper (sketch) copy of an artwork originally made by Captain Charles Sturt (1840) of his house at Grange. Note on back of painting reads: 'This sketch was sent to me by Mrs Napier George Stuart (the widow of Charles Sturt's eldest son, Colonel Stuart) who lives at 'Winterdyne' Bewdley, Worcestershire, England. In fowarding it she wrote, under date May 5th 1930, "It is an exact copy in watercolour of a sketch (slight and unfinished) made by Charles Sturt of Grange just as it was of old. The original painting is now in the Art Gallery of South Australia.'

Charles Sturt's Grave at Prestbury near Cheltenham. The British explorer of Australia is remembered as an ideal family man. He was a careful and accurate observer and an intelligent interpreter of what he saw. He prided himself on his impeccable treatment of Aboriginals and earned the respect and liking of his men. The grave stone remembers Charles Sturt, his wife Dame Charlotte, their daughter Charlotte Sturt, and Charlotte's friend and companion Eve Golding.

The boundaries of the hundreds with the County are shown in colours and an inset map shows the adjoining Counties of Russell and Sturt around the Murray Lakes, Hindmarsh Island and the Murray Mouth. Lake Alexandrina is shown as Lake Victoria (its change of name proposed after the accession of Queen Victoria). Archival copies indicate land and section holdings of the South Australian Company.

Captain Sturt's cairn of stones, Mount Poole. Two young men can be seen sitting on top of the cairn called Mount Poole, named after James Poole, a member of Sturt's expedition party. The cairn was erected in May 1845.
