[General description] Renmark's first train is standing ready to steam under the temporary arch which is decorated with flags, foliage and sheaves of wheat. It will break through a web of tape or ribbon to mark the opening of the line. There is a crowd of onlookers, some standing on the tracks. Enlarged Renmark Hotel

The enlarged Renmark Hotel opened by the Premier on January 10, 1936. The balcony on the three storey federation art deco style building is crowded with people marking the occasion of the opening of the hotel. The Australian flag is flying from the Hotel Renmark on this sunny day in January.
