Men and women seated at tables set for a meal in a flag decorated hall; younger people are assembled separately, it could be a dinner in honour of the pioneers.

A group of army officers, including a padre, outside a tent and identified as "Colonel Lee and his staff". The clergyman may be Camp Chaplain Archdeacon F.W. Samwell. Articles relating to this camp can be found in 'The Advertiser' Monday 31 January 1910, page 10, and Tuesday 11 January 1910, page 12, and these identify personnel in the camp. An almost identical photo (minus the padre) captioned as 'Headquarters Staff' appeared in 'The Observer' Saturday 5 February 1910, page 28. Not all listed in the papers are pictured, but those who have been identified are: Colonel J.H.A. Lee (centre, middle row); Major Walter Dollman (back row, 4th from right); Lt-Colonel W. Ramsay Smith (believed to be middle row, on left, instead of front row left); Major T.H. Smeaton (middle row, on right); R.A. Duncan and R. Duncan (with large cap badges, back row, 2nd from right and front row on right); and Colonel J. Rowell (middle row, 3rd from left). The padre (back row, centre) is Archdeacon Samwell (see 'The Advertiser', Saturday 29 January 1910, page 1). According to a researcher, front Left Hand Side is Lt. Col. Humphris DSO, middle LHS is Lt Col Ramsay-Smith.

According to a researcher, the photograph may be of school children welcoming a Parliamentary Party on Friday 22nd October 1909. The 'Advertiser' Saturday 23rd 1909 reports on the trip which was made at the request and the invitation of the Mallala Railway Committee.

Eight men, three holding rifles and two wearing military style uniforms, at a shooting tournament at Broken Hill. A notice nailed to the stone wall behind them includes the words 'Match Entries'. Searcy's caption suggests these men were from Hamley Bridge and Eastwood. Another caption written in pencil and erased, partly visible underneath the caption in ink, includes the words 'cycle teams from Hamley Bridge ..'
