This is possibly No. 14814 Sapper John Stanley McBain of North Adelaide who worked as a plumber before enlisting on 19 January 1916, aged 26. He served with Divisional Signal Company 5, Reinforcement 4 and embarked from Adelaide on board the HMAT A53 'Itria' on 14 August 1916. He returned to AUstralia on 22 May 1919 and was awarded the Military Medal for courage and devotion to duty maintaining lines of communication on 25 April 1918.
