Admitted Solicitor in England 1869, in South Australia 1897; Associate to Chief Justice, South Australia, 1901; Parliamentary Draftsman 1908; Crown Solicitor, 1916; KC 1922; Acting Judge of the Supreme Court, South Australia, 1925 and 1926; appointed Judge 1927. Married 1st November 1899 Ida Jane, daughter of late John Drayton of Exeter England. Two daughters".

Oliver Keble Richardson JP was a Special Magistrate for colonial South Australia. He was born at Todhillwood, Northumberland and arrived in South Australia in 1839 on board "Fairfield".He married Annie Harris Scott and together they had 13 children. He was Clerk, Colonial Secretary and Magistrate. He died at Streaky Bay in 1877.

Capt. James Ritchie: a pioneer navigator of the River Murray and father of Sir George Ritchie (see "Advertiser", August 8th 1944. ). James Ritchie founded a family of riverboat skippers. James had two brothers John and George. He joined Captain Francis Cadell's River Murray Navigation Company. James worked the river trade from Goolwa until he moved to Echuca to reside and trade on the river. He died in 1881 in Echuca. He had seven children, four of which became river boat captains
