General notes

It is suggested that the tall man with moustache standing behind the Governor (seated left with top hat) is Capt. Arthur Reginald Mecham, who was ADC to Robinson in S.A., Vic. and W.A. Mecham was appointed aide de camp on 9th April 1888 by the Governor (replacing Hatton Richards who was appointed ADC to Governor Robinson 8/5/1886). Mecham was paid 250 pounds per annum.
