The photo was taken looking towards the Adelaide hills, with the Masonic Temple and AH Pretty Signwriters buildings on the right and two trams travelling along the road.

Opening of Sempahore tram line

Tram number 25 arriving at Semaphore, decorated with the Union Jack and semaphore flags. A small crowd, largely of children, greets the tram with streamers. The occasion is believed to be the opening of the new electric Port Adelaide tram system in April 1917, which included the line to Semaphore.
