After the death of Sir Edwin Smith in 1919, his home 'The Acacias' because part of Loreto College and grounds, on the corner of Kensington Road and Port Rush Road, Marryatville. Sir Edwin Thomas Smith was a brewer, businessman, parliamentarian, civic leader and philanthropist.
