Chart of Port Adelaide, South Australia covering part of LeFevre's Peninsula and Torrens Island with land cover shown pictorially. Includes soundings for the coastal waters and Torrens River. Accompanying text is entitled 'Directions' and provides navigational directions to those sailing the Gulf of St. Vincent. The references under Remarks demonstrates the hopes of the Colony to provide anchorages for visiting vessels along the Torrens River and to provide access further up the River to the city of Adelaide. This chart was compiled from Colonel Light's survey with soundings by S. Hamilton, drawn by F.H. Burslem of the Survey Department and engraved by W. Moffitt, Sydney. Shows coast, river with soundings, and Torrens Island. Includes natural features. Dated 1839, but without detailed navigation notes that appear on 1840 version (map 120/3). Scale 2 inches to 1 mile.

Port Adelaide [cartographic material] : supplement to the "Illustrated Adelaide News" May, 1879
Bird's eye view of Port Adelaide, South Australia, engraved by A. C. Cooke, and published as a supplement to the 'Illustrated Adelaide News', May 1879 by Frearson & Brother. This copy [copy 1] is backed onto cotton, through which can be seen: 'Presented by S.A. Company'. (An article in the same edition of the 'Illustrated Adelaide News' appears on page 71, with a key to the view on page 79.) Another version was also issued as a supplement to Frearson's Weekly, No. 5 (March 5, 1880) [copy 2]. Also held is a facsimile which was produced for the Port Adelaide Historical Society in the 1970s [copy 3]. Reserve copy printed from original block found in CS Bird's Printery in 1975.

"The dark green line marks the Boundary of Properties which the President of the Marine Board recommends should be purchased."

Plan showing 'the warehouses and sheds and the progressive state of wharfs' at Port Adelaide erected by the South Australian Company. A rudimentary wooden platform is shown on the end of the McLaren Wharf with the position of the lifting crane, a well and connecting bridge to the Government Reserve. An indication of the extent of vegetation surrounding an inlet in the area has been carefully executed by the artist. Signed by the architects Prescott and Hancock at right bottom corner, and dated January 5th 1840 at bottom left. 'No. 3' written at top left corner. Scale 1 & half inches to 50 feet.
