Photographs of flooding at Linear Park tracks in Highbury

Photographs of flooding at Linear Park tracks in Highbury

Comprising two digital photographs which were taken by S. Polkinghorne on Friday 30 September 2016, while standing on the pedestrian bridge which traverses Silkes Road, Paradise and Reids Road at Highbury. This area was used as a ford until about 2006. The top of the original three metre marker could be seen. According to the photographer, at the moment the photograph was taken, a tree came crashing down over the bridge but nobody was hurt. The Linear Park track which runs parallel to the river was completely submerged by the raging torrent at this time.
