Photograph album compiled by Bob McGhee, featuring photos mostly of life in the Middle East (Jerusalem, Palestine, Haifa, Tel-a-Viv, Hadet, Cairo, Bethlehem, Tripoli, Mombasa, Alexandria, Syria) but also including a few war photos from Tobruck, and photos from Durban (acquired on his return to Australia?). Many of them seem to have been produced for the tourist market. Inside the front cover is an inscription 'To dear May / wishing you a Happy Birthday / 4th June 1941 Bob'. In the bottom left hand corner is 'SX 7038 / Sgt. R. P. McGhee'. [May was his his wife]. Album was lent for copying by the State Library of South Australia.

Father Christmas in a pageant in Toronto
View of a Father Christmas float in a Christmas pageant held in Toronto in the 1930s. The float features eight reindeer pulling the sled in which Father Christmas is sitting, and is pulled by a tractor. There are members of the Police Force walking alongside the float, and the large crowd has parted just enough to allow the float through.

The float carrying Father Christmas and his sleigh arrives at the John Martin's department store in Rundle Street, Adelaide, at the end of the Christmas pageant. A large crowd fills the street and police horses are on patrol.

Consists of three maps, one showing the whole of the special survey giving section numbers, names of owners and showing the reserve for natives. The second shows Currency Creek township with street names and lot numbers with some owners names, and includes green and red shading, green meaning that the area is reserved for public purposes, red for those reserved for the post office and police station. The third and smallest map shows Goolwa and gives street names, numbered lots and some owner's names. Annotations in ink. Part-coloured (watercolour).
