[General description] Head and shoulders portrait of Sir Richard Davies Hanson, in three quarter view in an oval frame. He wears a beard with side-whiskers but without moustache. Devonshire Place, east side, 31 December 1953. Right side of white structure is 57 yards north of Pirie Street. Frontage of white structure is 13.5 yards. The two storey building was remodelled from an old building, and the single storey structure on its left were both erected 1950. The single storey structure was erected on a vacant site. A sign on the white buildings says DI McDonough refrigeration, sales and service.

[General description] A hand barrow stands next to this stone building, the premises of W. Page, Printer. Above the entrance of the building are the words 'Up-to-Date Printing Office'. On the side of the building a sign directs patrons to the 'Bicycle Stable'. [On back of photograph] 'Acre 167 / Coromandel Place. A sign painted on its side wall indicates that it may also have earlier been used by George Wills & Co. It appears that some demolition work is already under way as there are piles of rubble on the footpath.
