[General description] The left side of this double fronted building was the original Baptist Church, the house on the extreme left being the Manse. In 1891 the church was purchased by the Government and converted for use as the school. [On back of photograph] 'School of Mines, Moonta - Opened 1891 / Left part of building formerly a Baptist Church opened in 1866 / Right wing added after 1900's for assaying and metallurgy laboratory / Reproduced in the Chronicle for September 1, 1932'.

[General description] A train is stationary in the yard at the Moonta Railway Station. A man, maybe the engineer is standing on the cowcatcher of the locomotive. The railway station building was designed by architect Alfred McBain Bonython and erected by Gambling & Son in 1909. It was one of several built to the same design by at Penola, Tailem Bend, Wallaroo and Murray Bridge.
