[On back of photograph] '1900-06 / Paramatta Mine (Moonta) / From left: Vanner-house, boiler and engine-house, crusher house and concentrating machinery, poppet head, blacksmith shop and store / Discovered in 1866, the mine is situated about two miles north of Moonta township / Produced rich ore for a period of 12 years when it was closed down / Re-opened by a French Company in 1899 / The poppet head, Hancock jig and vanner-house shown in this photograph were erected at that time / The other buildings were erected by the original company' (Oswald Pryor 12-2-52)
