Photographs and papers relating to 'Weetunga'

Photographs and papers collected by the family over a period of time relating to the family home 'Weetunga' at Fulham, and the surrounding area. They include photographs of the house, the barn and garden, a large tree which fell on the property, a hand drawn map of the property (nd), an article 'Witoinga - Swamp to City : the history of Henley & Grange' by Lawrence Dalziel (ca.1975), and a number of newspaper and magazine articles on 'Weetunga' (1928-1989) and one newspaper cutting about 'Holmfirth' (1929). Information for photographs 21-24 was provided by Mrs. M. White.

Includes note by the surveyors relating to the survey measurements. This copy certified by the Surveyor General on 25 September 1913. Scale 1 inch to 5 chains. Plan showing 'the warehouses and sheds and the progressive state of wharfs' at Port Adelaide erected by the South Australian Company. A rudimentary wooden platform is shown on the end of the McLaren Wharf with the position of the lifting crane, a well and connecting bridge to the Government Reserve. An indication of the extent of vegetation surrounding an inlet in the area has been carefully executed by the artist. Signed by the architects Prescott and Hancock at right bottom corner, and dated January 5th 1840 at bottom left. 'No. 3' written at top left corner. Scale 1 & half inches to 50 feet. Ink and watercolour on paper, ink notation.

This river roll chart of the Murray River was used by paddle steamer skippers as a navigational aid. The chart shows the river from near the Anabranch to near Blanchetown. Hazards marked, also buildings with some owners named. The course the river boat should take is indicated by dots. Ink on calico.
