Art exhibition at the Institute Building, North Terrace
Painting in oils depicting an exhibition in the Royal South Australian Society of Arts room at the heritage listed Institute building on the corner of Kintore Avenue and North Terrace that is part of the State Library of South Australia. This historically significant painting illustrates an exhibition of the period, with artworks by artists such as James Ashton, and demonstrates how at the time Aboriginal works were hung alongside those of the artists of European descendant. The artist Vera Coates was associated with the RSASA.
