Henley Beach Hotel, built in 1879 by T.A. Stewart. The hotel, with its large verandahs, overlooks sand dunes and the sea. This photo was taken during W. McNamee's proprietorship from 1891-98.

View from the Henley jetty looking west back towards Henley Square with Henley Kiosk the first of the buildings. The bandstand is located at the beach end of the jetty, and canvas bathing boxes (which could be hired for the day) are on either side of it.

Beach and promenade scene at Henley Beach. This is part of a panorama comprising B 2413, B 2411 and B 2412 [in that order], looking back from the jetty. In the foreground people are walking on the jetty, whilst families relax on the beach. Prominent in the background is the Kiosk, with its twin lookout towers, which was opened in 1915. See the 'Register', 22nd March 1915, page 4f for the opening ceremony. When this view was taken the proprietor was A.S. Belcher. Behind the Kiosk, the Ramsgate Hotel can be seen. The rotunda is in the middle ground. This view was reproduced in the 'Chronicle' on January 10th, 1925.

Henley Beach, from the jetty in November 1935. A lifeboat is hung prominently from the jetty railings. The Henley Life Saving Club sign hangs over a observation deck which stands above the jetty. Henley Kiosk (offering beach trays and hot water), Henley Cafe and the swimming pool can be seen on the esplanade. A rotunda stands at the entrance to the jetty and a tram in the background.
