Business premises of A.W. Ralph, Baker and Refreshment Rooms at Henley Beach. Mr and Mrs AW Ralph celebrated their silver wedding anniversary in 1907. Mr Ralph died in 1914. He was also the President of the Henley Sharks Football Club and held events in his tea rooms. The distinguished gentleman standing to the left of the door to the Tea Rooms, Bakers, Grocers, Post Office is possibly Mr AW Ralph himself

Ramsgate Hotel at Henley Beach was established in approximately 1898. Mrs J.R. Opie was the proprietor until her death in October 1904, when it was taken over by Mrs Angela Alexander, who was proprietor at the time this photograph was taken. Colourful flags hang from the first storey balconies. A group of young men in boaters, possibly students, is standing outside the hotel. A horse drawn carriage and a motor car stand in the background. Possibly a sailing race is taking place.
