An electric double deck trolley bus no. 407, en route to Hackney Depot. The vehicle is an AEC 661T with a 59 seat double-deck body built by Adelaide firm Lawton, one of 30 delivered to the Adelaide MTT in 1937-1939.

A collection of photographs and colour photocopies of the proposed Adelaide Wine Centre, including artists' impressions and designs, and aerial views of the site on the corner of Botanic and Hackney Roads. Aerial views include several of the former Hackney Tram and Bus Depot and the proposed site of the Adelaide International Rose Garden. An additional information sheet (item 13) filed with the album includes draft captions and newspaper report of 12/08/1998. These are a selection of photographs collected by Messenger Press, many of which have been published in the various suburban editions of the paper.

[General description] Grenfell Street buildings form a backdrop for this view of the crowd that has come to see the official opening of Adelaide's electric tram system. At 2.30 pm on March 9th, 1909, a procession of fourteen tramcars (carrying seven hundred passengers) led by tram No 1 left Hackney Depot travelling to Gurrs Road, Kensington. As the Premier, Mr T Price was very ill, Mrs Price officially drove the decorated leading tram under the Chief Engineer Mr Goodman's guidance. The procession travelled to Grenfell St and then reversed direction to return to Hackney Depot. Inauguration of the electric tramway system on March 9, 1909. Mrs Thomas Price, wife of the premier Tom Price is starting the first car from the Hackney Depot. The tram is decorated with Union Jacks, ribbons and flowers. Anne Price took the controls of tram no 1 on its journey from the Hackney depot to Kensington and back.

Album of sketches done by James Henderson. Most were done when Henderson was a member of Captain Frome's expedition to the north in 1843, and these sketches complement the diary of James Henderson 'Exploration of N. interior of S. Australia'; the remaining drawings are of scenes around Adelaide, Inman Valley and Rapid Bay. The drawings are generally of a larger landscape but most have a point of interest in the form of kangaroos, emus, people, etc. The expedition drawings are for the most part done in the album; a few smaller ones have been done on paper and inserted into the album later. All the watercolours were done on paper and then added to the album.

[General description] This is theType 'E' tram no. 105. Part of an order from Pengelley & Co. in 1910, they were officially known as Open Combination Metropolitan Bogie Cars. They were used on the Glen Osmond/ St. Peters line, some still being in operation in 1958. [On back of photograph] 'Municipal Tramways Trust / Type of car intruduced about 1910-1914'.

Disused horse tram number 4 of the Parkside Tramway Co. Limited on the forecourt of the Municipal Tramways Trust depot at Hackney, after electrification had been introduced. The tram would most likely have been withdrawn from service by or before 1914, when Adelaide's horse tram services ceased.

Souvenir of the first electric car tram postcard, commemorating the switch from horsedrawn cars to electrified cars, 1909. Small branch of botanical specimen attached with a green ribbon. There is an inscription on the item "Souvenir of the First/Electric Car/opened on the/9th March/1909" and verso "Mrs H. S. Anthony/"Munburnie"/College Park/S.Aust. The cars were officially switched from horse drawn power to electrical at an opening cermeony held by The Municipal Tramways Trust, Adelaide at the Hackney Road Depot at 2.30 pm, Tuesday 9th March 1909. Also includes an envelope from W.A. Hamilton of 73 King William Street to 'Vox' at 'The Advertiser' postmarked 24 January 1945 and a newspaper cutting, Wednesday 13th February 1957 showing the old 'Advertiser' building and an artist's sketch of the proposed new building.
