Souvenir of the first electric car tram postcard, commemorating the switch from horsedrawn cars to electrified cars, 1909. Small branch of botanical specimen attached with a green ribbon. There is an inscription on the item "Souvenir of the First/Electric Car/opened on the/9th March/1909" and verso "Mrs H. S. Anthony/"Munburnie"/College Park/S.Aust. The cars were officially switched from horse drawn power to electrical at an opening cermeony held by The Municipal Tramways Trust, Adelaide at the Hackney Road Depot at 2.30 pm, Tuesday 9th March 1909. Also includes an envelope from W.A. Hamilton of 73 King William Street to 'Vox' at 'The Advertiser' postmarked 24 January 1945 and a newspaper cutting, Wednesday 13th February 1957 showing the old 'Advertiser' building and an artist's sketch of the proposed new building.
