Unveiling of the South African War Soldier's Memorial, 6 June 1904. The South African War Memorial (also known as the Boer War Memorial or, prior to 1931, the National War Memorial) is an equestrian memorial dedicated to the South Australians who served in the Second Boer War of 11 October 1899 to 31 May 1902. The statue was unveiled by the Governor of South Australia, George Le Hunte. the intersection is crowded and all available balconies are being used by the public. Various countries flags are flying from nearby buildings.

Rundle Street decorated during the first visit of the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and York in 1901. The royal couple were representing Albert Edward, Prince of Wales and Alexandra who were preparing for the coronation following the death of Queen Victoria in 1901. The Duke and Duchess were visiting Australia to open the first Federal Parliament in Melbourne. In the photograph the bunting and flags which decorated Rundle Street can be seen along with the along with Adelaide well wishers. The photograph shows the scene looking east from Pulteney Street.

Rundle Street, north side, Centenary Celebrations on Birks building showing floral decorations, Union Jacks and Australian flags, and a banner stating "100 Years of Progress" which was the theme of the Pageant held on 22 December. This was a grand celebration considering the Depression of 1929-34 had just occurred.

A temporary platform has been erected in front of the National Bank of Australia and the Imperial Fire Office buildings for dignitaries to view the parade. Flags and bunting decorate the buildings. City buildings and shops are seen on either side of the street. Shown on the North side of the street are The C.J. Young Shoe Co., Barlow's Shoes, a chemist, Stevenson's Jewellers clock and Marshall's Dept Store. Shown on the South side are Thelma-Duryea Photographic Studio, Bricknell's Cafe, the Grand Theatre, Sigalas & Co., Cawthorne's Piano & Music Warehouse, Kindermann's Cafe (est.1851), Charlick Bros Grocers & Teamen, and De-Lany's Red Lion Hotel. Three motor vehicle registrations are visible: 06034 is a Lagonda 11 registered in September 1915 to Mr. E.K. Collins of Mount Bryan, 04016 is a Buick registered to W.D. Taylor of Brougham place, North Adelaide, and 2509 was registered in 1912 to A. Addicoat of Adelaide. A young girl in the centre foreground is carrying a small Australian flag.

The Oriental Hotel (away on the right) stands on the east corner of Gawler Place. The tall white building near the extreme right is the Colonial Mutual Life Building, standing on the south corner of Hindley Street and King William Street.

[The Express & Telegraph, 28 Jan. 1896]. The tramcars going to the Sunbeam Picnic left from Grenfell Street to the residence of Sir Edwin Smith, who had opened his grounds for the picnic.

There are columns on the first floor balcony and the top of the building is decorated with stone finials and flag poles. Several horse drawn carriages stand outside.

The Victoria Buildings house The Great Boulder Proprietary Gold Mines Limited. The Imperial German Consulate is located on the ground floor along with Nord Deutscher Lloyd (NDL) H Muecke and Company. A statue of two women adorn the flag pole on the roof above the sign 'Fidem Teneo' (keeper of the faith).

South west corner of Gawler Place and Grenfell Street, Gawler Place frontage is 43.5 yards and Grenfell Street frontage is 37 yards. This newly built two storey building has rooms to let. On the Gawler Place side stands H Schulz Hairdresser, and London House. Ladies with parasols are walking by. The flag on top of the building appears to be flying at half mast.

Peace Day, King William Street. Huge crowds line the street during the Peace Day Parade held 19th July, 1919. The procession of soldiers marching are from the 10th and 27th Battalions. During the day athletic championships for soldiers were held, along with fireworks and 50 bonfires lit by the Boy Scouts.The chain of fires could be seen from the hills of Mitcham to Tea Tree Gully. A large banner held by the crowd reads 'Sammy's wish, peace at last'. Flags are flying from the buildings along King William Street.
