It has a deep verandah with banana palms growing in the side garden. Half way along the street the premises of VL Solomon and Company can be seen. Vaiben Louis Solomon left Adelaide for the Northern Territory in 1873 and became a prominent figure in the area. He opened "Solomon 's Emporium", became an auctioneer, was a business partner and helped to found the first municipal council. He was also the 21st Premier of South Australia but only from December 1 - December 8, 1899.
