Fire Station and appliance at Mount Barker. A researcher has added that the vehicle is an International, which was built by Harold Ghericke of Mount Barker around 1950. After decommissioning it was purchased and restored by David Chapman and is now [2013] on permanent loan to the Adelaide Hills Motor Restorers Club based at Mount Barker.

Railway yards, Mount Gambier
25 Freight trucks loaded with 2750 cases of tinned rabbits on their way to London from the Border Preserving Works. February 1902. The train can be seen standing in the railway yards with railway personnel in the foreground. These wild rabbits were introduced to Australia with the First Fleet and also by Thomas Austin in 1859. They quickly became a pest and were hunted for their food, skins and fur. The Border Preserving Works at Mount Gambier provided the Royal Navy with 33,000 kilos of rabbit food a week.

Rail accident at Murray Bridge
The scene after an accident at Murray Bridge railway station showing wreckage and damaged carriages from a runaway rail truck from Monarto which had pushed an empty carriage up on to the platform in front of the building, 12 May 1920. [A story appeared in the 'Chronicle' on 15 May 1920, and the photograph was published in the 'Adelaide Observer' newspaper 22 May 1920.]
