Ford truck converted for rail operation
A Ford truck which has been converted for operation on the railways about to be delivered by horse drawn cart from the premises of Forwood Down & Co. Ltd. engineering firm in Hindley Street, Adelaide. This is a Ford Model TT truck chassis which appears to be a ca.1923/24 model, but not as late as the last of the T and TT which were built in 1927. (information provided by researcher).

Railway trucks filled with passengers for a Silverton Tramway Co. picnic
A long line of railway trucks filled with adults and children. S.T.Co is likely to stand for Silverton Tramway Company. On New Years Day 1915, 40 open concentrate trucks were hired to transport 1200 people for the Picnic. It was attacked by two 'Turks', with four people killed, and the incident is referred to as the 'War at Broken Hill'.

Sheep being loaded onto a ship called 'Parndana'
Series of photographs by Phyllis Jean Huntley of sheep being loaded loaded onto trucks on a property, and then, with help of a goat, being loaded onto the ship 'Parndana' at Venus Bay on the West Coast of South Australia. The negatives were in the possession of John Laurence Rehn who was involved in the transport business in South Australia prior to the late 1950s; and a note on the envelope read 'to be returned to PJ Huntley, Venus Bay PO, West Coast, SA'.
