Summary

Copied from a Crombie family album, this image shows 'George and AEC Mammoth Mager at Thargomindah Hotel [with a load of] 2 tiers [of] stud rams. [In different hand] George at wheel - fiddling with a movie camera. Harry is coming out of Tharlgo Pub & took a photo of the "Ace"'.

Historical information

Caption on the back of another photo (poor quality and therefore not copied) refers to the 'AEC's last trip - going back to Sydney. Driven by Herb Milne from Wilcannia. "We got it on the road towards Cobar. we were stopped by the police and told it was too wide. We took it back to Wilcannia and cut 1 foot off each side to bring it back to 8 ft"'. Another photo (not copied for the same reason) '.. Herb drove it over and a bloke from AEC took over [at Bathurst?] and drove it to Sydney. Herb travelled back by train'.
