In this section there is a tent and buildings associated with the foreshore amusement park. On the opposite side of the Esplanade is a large building probably holiday flats. [General description] Part B of panorama of Esplanade at Semaphore, with part of the foreshore reserve being seen in the foreground. (This series consists of five sections to be fitted together.) This section shows the Esplanade with motor vehicles including a stationary truck advertising Port Mineral Waters. A pair of horses stand patiently harnessed to a Woodroofe wagon. These delivery vans are probably supplying the Evancourt Private Hotel, on the opposite side of the road. In this section the Esplanade cuts diagonally across the view with the foreshore park on the right and palm trees along the road. On the opposite side of the Esplanade are houses and holiday accommodation with Norfolk Island pines planted in the nature strip. The War Memorial Clock, with its Angel on top is in the foreground. Aerial view of Semaphore showing the Semaphore Jetty which was completed in 1860. Swimming Baths were added to the jetty in 1889. In 1914 a two storey kiosk on the inner T-head of the jetty was opened in December. It included a restaurant, accommodation for the lessee and a dance hall upstairs. This was removed in 1948 following a fire.

Old water tower at Semaphore, a well known landmark and guide to ships is to have a block of flats attached to it. The tower was used to supply Lefevre's Peninsula with water when the supply was cut off by the opening of Jervois Bridge for ships to pass through. The purchaser of the property decided not to demolish the structure because of its historic associations. This report appeared in the "Mail" March 5, 1938.The octagonal watertower was erected in 1880 and is two metres thick at the base. The E&WS employees used the site as a holiday camp during the Depression.

Semaphore jetty and tide gauge. This gauge rose and fell with the tide indicating the depth of water above the low water mark. The signalman at the signal station on the Esplanade watched this carefully through his telescope and changed the tide signals accordingly
