Records comprising photos of swimming carnivals and events. Two items were not retained: a newspaper cutting from 'The Chronicle', Saturday 10 March 1917, page 29, featuring three photos: 'Picturesque scene on the Torrens at Gilberton ...'; the General Committee and the Ladies Committee. The main photo was by Krischock, the others are attributed to 'Presto'. The photos were taken the previous week on 3 March 1917.; and a newspaper cutting from 'The Observer', Saturday 20 February 1926, page 32, featuring images from the Australian Diving and Swimming Championships held at the Gilberton Club.

George Thomas Fulwood was born 4 May 1884 and died on 9 December 1916, aged 32 at the Boscombe Military Hospital, Wiltshire. Arthur Leslie Fulwood was born in 1886 and died 8 November 1933, aged 47. They were sons of Richard Fulwood (17 January 1861 of 'Woodland Farm', District of Talunga, and died 23 October 1929, aged 68 at Victor Harbor) and Elizabeth Langford (1862 - 30 September 1917, aged 55 of Bute). They married on 24 March 1881 at East Moonta. They had 5 sons, including Ernest William (born 13 July 1897 and died 3 November 1907, aged 10.).

Letter to Gertrude Painter regarding her husband's death on the battlefield

A letter written to Gertrude Ida Painter, the widow of Private John Edward Painter, from an officer, Captain Tennyson George Clarke, who found Private Painter wounded. The letter is dated 17th February 1917, four months after Gertrude Painter had made enquiries when her husband was reported as wounded, missing in action. Captain Clarke gives details of Private Painter, finding him in the trenches on the front after the Battle of Potieres, his wounds, and some of his last words. Private Painter died on 16 August 1916, but was originally reported as wounded. Gertrude Painter did not receive confirmation of his death until the following year.
